Minister of Investment discusses with Italian Minister of Infrastructures new investments



Dr. Sahar Nasr, Minister of Investment and International Cooperation, met with Italian Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Danilo Tunneli during her visit to Rome, in the presence of Ambassador Hisham Badr, Egypt's Ambassador to Rome.

The two sides discussed increasing cooperation in the field of infrastructure by encouraging Italian companies to inject new investments in Egypt in this field, in addition to Italy's support for several projects in the transport sector such as railway and metro.

The minister stressed Egypt's keenness to increase economic and investment relations with Italy, in light of the strategic relationship between the two countries, and linking the two peoples of historical relations extended.



The minister pointed out that the transport sector in Egypt is witnessing a great development in all its sectors due to its importance in the infrastructure that attracts investors, pointing out that there are promising investment opportunities in all fields of transport. Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tariq Al-Mulla stressed that the ministry's strategy aims to expand the petrochemical projects as a value-added industry and achieve optimal economic exploitation of Egypt's oil and gas resources and its positive participation in supporting the national economy. Minister of Trade: sending a trade mission comprising 31 companies to Kazakhstan to discuss investment opportunities

Minister of Trade and Industry Eng. Amr Nassar announced that an Egyptian trade mission will be sent to the State of Kazakhstan early next March to review the opportunities of joint economic cooperation in the fields of trade, industry and investment, pointing out that the mission will be headed by Ahmed Taha, Engineering and food industries, building materials, metallurgy, pharmaceutical and furniture industries, as well as representatives of the banking sector and the economic zone of the Suez Canal.

American Chamber: Egypt spent LE 2 trillion on infrastructure in 4 years

Tariq Tawfiq, President of the American Chamber of Commerce, said that the transport and logistics sector is one of the most promising sectors in Egypt, pointing out that it is important to clarify the sector map and the opportunities available to investors and the private sector.

Tawfik added that Egypt spent about LE 2 trillion to develop the transport sector and improve the infrastructure during the last four years.

This came during a welcome to Dr. Hisham Arafat, Minister of Transport during his meeting with the American Chamber of Commerce in the events of the monthly meeting on the transport sector and future aspirations.
